e-CBD created a website for Oak Tree Group that not only had the ability to grow with the client’s ever-expanding portfolio, but also improve their performance in search engines and increase leads.

Retirement village developers Oak Tree Group came to us in 2009 with only 11 villages and a very basic website. After many years of working together and a few redesigns, their website has expanded with them to include 21 villages throughout Australia with another 6 in development. Our longstanding relationship with Oak Tree Group has seen us advise and collaborate on a number of digital projects over the years. Most recently, e-CBD has been helping to bring Oak Tree’s website into the modern age with a fresh new design for each of their village locations’ mini-sites.

The primary focus for the roll out of this new design has been two-fold; to deliver a flawless user experience to site visitors across all devices, and to enhance their site’s performance in regards to search engine rankings and conversion rate.

While the previous website had a great looking design, the layout and functionality wasn’t ideal for search engine optimisation purposes, and wasn’t encouraging visitors to enquire. The sheer number of villages caused a few duplicate content issues although the client was doing an excellent job of writing unique blog articles for each location that depicted village life for residents.

The new design solved these SEO issues and the website has since seen improvements in organic performance and site usability in the form of lowered bounce rate, increased time spent on the site and increased number of enquiries and leads through the website.

The client also required the creation of landing pages for upcoming villages that were informative enough to capture new leads from interested future residents, until the time came where the village was ready to get its own sub site.
